Acupuncture with me:
Hello, I'm Hannah. I am a qualified Acupuncturist and I work in Lancaster and Bentham. I love this work because I am able to go on a journey with each of my clients enabling them to find more balance and well being in their lives. I find human life and bodies endlessly fascinating, particularly the overlapping of physical, emotional and psychological experience. The oriental model of medicine shows very clearly how these things are connected, and that in fact our minds (which are housed within our bodies) and our bodies (which are most often controlled by our mind) are part of the same system, and that to separate them is impossible!
I take a personalised approach, finding out what each person needs from treatment. Along with acupuncture I also offer tui na massage, guided relaxation, cupping, guasha, as well as a safe space to speak openly. People often report back that they found the acupuncture treatment very relaxing. In this busy world, relaxation is certainly key to restoring balance. Acupuncture can also work more specifically than only causing relaxation, many of my clients have particular conditions such as Parkinsons, depression, infertility, back pain, Trigeminal Neuralgia, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I work specifically with each person to understand how they experience their bodies, and how their lives challenge or support their well being, so in this way, no matter what the diagnosis someone has, they will be met as an individual and treated according to their needs.
I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council who are regulated by the Professional Standards Authority; I hold a BSc in Acupuncture; I am also a board member of the Association of Community and Multibed Acupuncture Clinics. I am committed to continuing my own professional development and have attended trainings with Stephen Birch, Kiiko Matsumoto, Avi Magidoff, the Body-Mind centering Somatic Movement Education program.
